This past weekend we had the opportunity to drive five hours by car to see our youngest child. The last time we went was in January, but it seems like ages ago before the pandemic hit. There was a certain joy in the freedom of the open road and miles and miles of pavement ahead. At least we were not stuck in quarantine.
taking turn leading
leapfrogging one another
sustaining the pace
even God’s people
are subjected to his wrath
when the oppressed cry
already it’s dark
week before DST ends –
therapists on call
fragrantly wafting
pungent scent of full ripeness
sweet taste of childhood
the sun going down
changing the angles of light
moving through the woods
